ICO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP SCOTLAND 2019
Invitation World Championships Scotland 2019
Dear Country President
I am sending you an official invitation to the ICO World Championships being held in Scotland, 18th – 20th October 2019.
These Championships will be held at Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility, 1 O’Donnell Way, Wishaw, Motherwell, ML1 2TZ
Travel time from Glasgow International Airport – 34 minutes
Travel time from Edinburgh Airport – 36 minutes
Travel time from Prestwick Airport – 56 minutes
The hotels are situated 10-15 minutes away from the sports centre. The name and location of the hotels will be provided when we receive 50% of your team’s accommodation payment.
Provisional schedule – Weigh ins are on 16th and 17th October. The opening ceremony will start 18th October at 10am with fighting starting at midday. On Saturday 19th the Championships will start at 9am. On the last day, Sunday 20th fighting will start at 9am and finishing at 3pm. We will be hosting a Gala Fight Night at same facility until 11pm then on to the after party. Teams depart Scotland on Monday 21st.
I will send out the complete welcome pack within the next month with full details including a poster for advertising purposes, important dates for payments and when category lists are due.

ICO WORLD CUP 2017
Welcome to the ICO World Cup Birmingham, England 2017.
This year’s event will be held in England’s second biggest City to London – Birmingham. Birmingham is a large vibrant City with an International airport linked by great rail and road networks. The venue for the event is situated within a 10 min drive by car or bus from Birmingham Airport. There are a number of large Hotels situated in and around Birmingham Airport that is neighboured with our famous National Exhibition Centre or NEC.
Situated between the Airport and the Exhibition centre is the International train station which will give direct access to Grand Central, New St Station, Birmingham City centre as well as regular trains to London.
Situated at the NEC is RESORTS WORLD, a new building consisting of Hotels, Casino, 10 screen cinema, bars and restaurants, shopping mall etc.… A short trip into the City centre (by train or bus) takes you straight to the well known Bullring, Selfridges, amazing restaurants in Brindley Place, the canal networks and nightlife on Broad Street.
Great places of interest within 30 mins of the hotels are Warwick Castle. Warwick Castle is a medieval castle developed from an original built by William the Conqueror in 1068. Warwick is the county town of Warwickshire, England, situated on a bend of the River Avon. Next is Stratford upon Avon, Birthplace of William Shakespeare. Stratford-upon-Avon, a medieval market town in England’s West Midlands, is the 16th – century birthplace of William Shakespeare. Possibly the most famous writer in the English language, Shakespeare is known for his sonnets and plays such as ‘Romeo and Juliet’ and ‘Hamlet’. The Royal Shakespeare Company performs his plays in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and adjacent Swan Theatre on the banks of the River Avon.
The main reason we will all come together in Birmingham is for Martial Arts competition and we will have Point fighting, Light Contact, Full Contact, K1, Thai Boxing, MMA, Forms, Grappling, Ring Continuous, K1 Continuous. Kids/Cadets/Adults/Veterans/Masters Competition for all!

HOTELS FOR WORLD CUP 2017
ALL TEAMS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR BOOKING THEIR OWN HOTELS!!! This will not be done by the organiser. The closest hotels to the venue are situated in and around the Airport and NEC complex and range from 2 * to 4 * and are all 10 mins from Venue by car or bus, and all are 5 mins from Airport they are large hotels with many rooms.
TRANSPORT FOR WORLD CUP 2017
Transport like mini bus or coach to and from the venue to local hotels shown can be organised on request from Team Leader/Coach/President and booked in advance for larger teams.

We want to make this competition Pre Registration only so we know how many competitors we have attending the event and so we can start to create the category draw sheets in good time.
Please use the Pre-Registration form provided and make sure your registration is in before the closing date of Oct 5th 2017. Please note there will be penalties for missing this date!
